The first advantage of a plasma TV over an LCD or other formats of a television is that it has a higher contrast. The higher contrast of the plasma screen allows one to enjoy more realistic pictures than the plasma screen. This is evident if one goes for plasma TV’s larger than 50”. The color accuracy of the plasma also allows for clearer images while displaying images, the LCD works by subtracting light parts from white light whereas the plasma screen uses the noble gases and mercury, to produce the different visible color waves, the plasma allows for one to get up to 16.77 million colors.
The other advantage of plasma TV’s over LCD’s is the fact that the viewing angle is wide and natural as can be. Though the screen may be made of glass, the degree of reflection of light is minimized by the use of anti glare. The angle of viewing can be as large as 170 degrees; this makes the viewing of a plasma screen simple and effective. The counterpart on the other hand has trouble with the degree of viewing. An LCD TV will force one to sit directly in front of an LCD display to get the most out of an image, the LCD display allows one to view the images from an angle as little as 60 degrees.
The other advantage that is presented by the Plasma TV is the ability to display fast moving images with clarity. The older LCD screens used to have a huge problem with this but with recent technology the LCD’s TV’s have improved this tremendously. However the plasma TV is the best when it comes to this. It is able to respond to quick motion of pictures since its pixel response time in these screens is much higher than the LCD’s.
